pSeries 690
This new class of pSeries is IBM's first UNIX Datacenter system, utilizing mainframe-inspired self management capabilities. pSeries 690

The 8- to 32-way pSeries 690 consists of a central electronics complex, up to eight I/O drawers and a media drawer, mounted in one or two 24-inch wide racks.

The pSeries 690 incorporates many innovations including copper-based silicon-on-insulator (SOI) POWER4 microprocessor technology, multichip high density packaging, and advanced self-management capabilities.
